Solo Show of our artist Daniel Mattar, in Gallery Marcia Barrozo do Amaral, Stand D2, at ArtRio 2021.
In his research, Daniel Mattar develops dialogues through photography that show multiple three-dimensionalities on two-dimensional planes.
Using oil paints and/or mineral pigments, the artist composes his images, intervening on small areas of inkblots, packages, book images, photos from personal archives and several other surfaces related to image reproduction. Once finished, his micro-spaces are immediately photographed at the height of paint freshness to be printed on large-scale works, establishing a vast dimensional vocabulary of volumes and colours.
A new way of painting, having photography as media and resulting in works with a sculptural aspect.
