Cássio Campos Vasconcellos (São Paulo, SP, 1965) began his career in photography in São Paulo at the Imagem-Ação School in 1981.
He has participated in more than 200 exhibitions in more than 20 countries, among them: "Nous les Arbres", Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris (2019); "Civilization: The Way We Live Now", Saatchi Gallery, London (2023), National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia and UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing, China (2019) and "Past/Future/Present: Contemporary Brazilian Art from the Museum of Modern Art, São Paulo", Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix, Arizona, (2017);
Cássio Vasconcellos has published 14 books, among them: Abre-Alas (Ed. Madalena, 2018), Brasil Visto do Céu (Ed. Brasileira, 2017), Aeroporto (Ed. Madalena, 2015) and Noturnos São Paulo (Bookmark, 2002) and is part of the select group of the book "The World Atlas of Street Photography", a book published by Thames & Hudson, England, and Yale, U.S.A. in 2014 and which brings the series "Noturnos São Paulo".
He won several awards, such as Conrado Wessel de Arte (2011) and Associação Paulista dos Críticos de Arte (APCA - 2002), for the best exhibition of the year with the show "Noturnos São Paulo". His images are part of several collections in Brazil and abroad, such as MASP - Museu de Arte de São Paulo (São Paulo, Brazil), Bibliothèque Nationale (Paris, France) and Museum of Fine Arts (Houston, United States).
